SASSA Takes Services to Fernie Community

Tuesday, August 27, 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services for the community.

SASSA will probably be rendering services including new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency stated it truly is alarmed with regard to the significant quantity of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your large quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office dedicated to service the area on a daily basis. The support point made for intervention experiences a high inflow of possible beneficiaries, which makes it tough for the Workplace to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more resources to enable the servicing of all clients and improve access to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
